Lucy hated the way she looked and never felt comfortable in what she wore. Now she’s a new person – loves her clothes, feels great, and likes going out!

Lucy has lost an amazing 7 stone and is very proud of herself. Her two teenage children are delighted too and love having a happy, bouncy Mum around.

That’s a Slimtone blog post from April 2019 – and Lucy has maintained her weight since then, even through lockdown and the pressure of extra shifts in the pharmacy where she works.

“Coming to Slimtone has been great.” says Lucy. “Everyone is so friendly, we really have a laugh and share ideas as well as learn from Marie. We all have our good weeks and bad weeks, but stick at it – you’ll be glad you did, it really pays off!”

Lucy says that you have to give yourself time – “You can’t expect to lose lots every week, but keep at it. Stay to the class talk too. Marie always has such interesting talks and tips, and sharing ideas with the other members is useful too. Planning is important as well. I sit down every evening and plan out what I’m going to eat the next day. I take photos of my meals and share it on social media – it’s just straight-forward, “normal” food, that’s tasty too.”

You can see the photos of what Lucy eats from the original blog post here.

And here’s an update on some of the tasty meals she’s had recently.

Breakfast
I still like to ring the changes with my breakfast and definitely never skip it! Sometimes I have Fruit and Fibre with milk from my daily allowance. And I’m really loving porridge with Sweet Freedom Choc shots or one of the other flavours now available.

Lunch
Lunch is usually something I can take to work, a tasty sandwich or roll is ideal. I treat myself with some crisps and always take some fresh fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Dinner
I have my main meal of the day in the evening. With two teenage children it’s important that we have things we can all enjoy. Quiche and salad is a summer favourite. I tried orzo for the first time recently and it was really tasty. The Chicken and Mushroom curry, made with Mayflower curry sauce, is a great stand-by – this one has just got mushrooms in it. And my new favourite dinner is chicken, asparagus and Slimtone “roasties” with peppercorn sauce. I make up half a packet of sauce with milk from my daily allowance – delicious and worth every calorie!

Marie says, “It’s great to see Lucy back in class after working extra in the chemist – and she’s stayed exactly the same weight. As I’ve always said, planning is the key to success and Lucy is really organised. She has lost over seven stone, is always sharing great ideas with the members and looks fab! She really is an inspiration to us all!”
