This week is Breakfast Week. As you know, breakfast is an important part of the Lifestyle Plan, so we’re thrilled to join in the breakfast conversations this week.

The Breakfast Week campaign is an annual celebration of the most important meal of the day! It is run on behalf of the UK cereal growers and processors and encourages everyone to Shake Up Your Wake Up! Sounds good to me.

As well as all of the suggestions in the Lifestyle Plan, we’ve got lots more breakfast ideas in class this week. From banana pancakes or creamy mushrooms on toast to the ultimate bacon sandwich – yes, you can have all of these things and still lose weight. We also take a look at the healthy options versus the belly bulgers if you are someone who grabs your breakfast on the run. It’s amazing what a difference some simple swaps can make. And it’s all tasty and filling too.

So why is breakfast the most important meal of the day? Well it gives your metabolism a kick start and gets your body going. Just like a fire, you need to keep your body stoked up with fuel. That way you’ll be burning it off all day. And the ideal breakfasts are the ones that provide you with slow release energy so you don’t get those mid-morning hunger pangs.
