Sharyn has lost over 3 stone in the last 12 months and is so thrilled to be down 3 sizes in clothes! And doesn’t she look great!

Sharyn says she’d been yoyo dieting for years after she’d had two knee replacements – but had never really lost the weight she wanted. She finally decided to do something about it 12 months ago.

“I wanted to do something for me!” says Sharyn “I wanted to look after my health and to be here for my grand-children. I’d known Marie for years, so went along to the Slimtone class in the Garw.

“It’s the best thing I’ve done – what an inspiration Marie is, as well as a lovely friend! I’ve lost 3 stone in 12 months and have dropped 3 dress sizes! I’ve got a little more to lose as I’m having a hip replacement soon and want to be really fit for that. I’m also going to be a great grandmother later this year, so that’s another reason to get myself in trim.”

“Losing the weight has been great and I love going to class. The Slimtone Lifestyle Plan really suits me. One of my favourites is a Warburtons pitta bread popped in the toaster and filled with ham and salad. It’s so crispy and very filling. I also like the Slimtone curry and, now with my Soup Maker, make lots of soups which are tasty and really help to satisfy you.”

One of Sharyn’s favourite soups is a tasty Leek and Potato – it’s simple to make and very inexpensive!
Serves 1 – approx 200 cals
2 large leeks, chopped                           2 medium potatoes, diced (approx 280g/10oz)
1 onion, chopped                                   600ml/1 pint of vegetable stock
One cal cooking spray                           Fresh parsley, cleaned and chopped

Mist a non-stick pan with cooking spray and sauté leeks, potatoes and onion for 1-2 minutes. Add vegetable stock, bring to the boil and simmer gently for 20-30 minutes. Add parsley after about 15 minutes. Allow to cool and liquidise or blitz with hand blender.

And if like Sharyn you enjoy a curry, here’s Slimtone’s Quick Chicken Curry recipe – there’s nothing easier!

Sweat 1 sliced onion in ½ chicken stock cube mixed with 150ml/ 4 fl oz water. Add 112g/4oz cubed chicken or quorn, add curry powder to taste and sliced mushrooms. Simmer until thoroughly cooked adding more stock if required. Thicken with 2 tsp cornflour made into a paste with cold water. Serve with 168g/6oz cooked rice (56g/2oz dry weight).
